ProperMDM is a web console for turning Android devices into locked-down kiosks and managing them as a fleet. It connects to Google's Android Management API, so tablets are provisioned as fully managed device owners without root access, custom firmware or an on-site server.

Which Android devices are supported?

Any tablet running Android 6.0 or newer that is company-owned and has been factory reset. Personal-usage enrollment is not supported: the console issues device-owner enrollment, which requires the tablet to be provisioned as a fully managed device.

Does a tablet need to be factory reset before enrollment?

Yes. Device-owner enrollment starts from the very first setup screen, so a tablet already in daily use has to be wiped before it can be enrolled. Plan the first setup around a new or spare tablet.

Can I lock a tablet to a single app?

Yes. Kiosk mode locks the tablet to one app, blocks the Home, power and volume buttons, hides the status and navigation bars, and stops users uninstalling apps or opening settings. A lock-screen PIN can be pushed so the tablet asks for it outside the kiosk app.

Can I control which websites a kiosk can open?

Yes. Each tablet has its own allow list and block list of websites, enforced by Chrome on the tablet, and the console holds Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the network each tablet joins.

What does ProperMDM cost?

AUD $7 per tablet per month, after a 7-day free trial that starts once a card is saved. Billing runs monthly through Stripe, and the billed quantity follows the number of tablets in your account, so retiring a tablet lowers the next invoice. You can cancel at any time.

Can I manage several customers or sites from one login?

Each company account has its own tablets, configuration and activity log, isolated from every other account, and a login only ever sees the account it belongs to. ProperMDM runs the managed Android enterprise behind the scenes, so customers never need a Google Cloud project of their own.

Can a kiosk wake and sleep on a schedule?

No. Android's management API has no way to switch a tablet's screen on and off by clock, or to wake it when someone approaches, so ProperMDM does not offer those settings. Every control the console does show is applied to the tablet.

How long does enrollment take?

A few minutes per tablet. Android downloads the policy, restarts the tablet into kiosk mode, and the console then shows its real model, battery level and last check-in.
